1.Don’t assume your Gynecomastia will go away on it's own.  Yes, this could happen, but if you have been dealing with this extra tissue for over a year, it will probably require medical intervention.

2.Don’t skip a visit to your primary physician.  It is important to determine the cause of your Gynecomastia, as it may be a sign of a more serious medical condition – or easily resolved by discontinuing a medication.

3.Don’t hide under layered or baggy clothing. A Male Breast Reduction can help increase your self-esteem; allowing you to hit the gym or the beach shirtless, once again.

4.Don’t be concerned about scarring.  A Male Breast Reduction is very different then the Female Breast Reduction. Dr. Devlin places an incision around the areola.  Once healed it becomes hard to see.

5.Don’t be embarrassed to seek help.  Each year more and more men are seeing treatment for their Gynecomastia.  Devlin Cosmetic Surgery has seen a 50% increase in 2014.

6. Do know that results of the surgery are significant and permanent. After healing most men state their only regret is not having the surgery sooner.

7.Do take a few days off work to recovery from your surgery.  You may experience mild to moderate aching in the chest afterward, and some minor swelling, so plan on between three and five days to rest and heal.

8. Do take care of your new chest.  Carefully follow your doctor’s post-surgery instructions.  Wear your compression garment.

9. Do take off from strenuous exercise and weight lifting for at least two weeks.  Dr. Devlin will inform you when you may resume all normal activity.

10. Do take action today.  Make an appointment with Dr. Devlin to discuss all of your treatment options.
