Dermal Fillers
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers(dermal fillers) are substances which can be injected into areas of the face in order to restore a smoother, more youthful appearance. Dermal fillers can be used to treat sunken facial areas, creases, lines, wrinkles and even to enhance the lips. There are a variety of injectable fillers.

How long does the procedure for dermal fillers last?
The procedure is a quick one, usually taking no more than forty-five minutes to complete. A small amount of topical numbing cream is applied to the areas that are to be treated. This is allowed to set for approximately 15-20 minutes. The dermal fillers also have lidocaine in them to keep you comfortable. There is very little pain associated with dermal fillers.

Are dermal fillers permanent?
Dermal fillers are not permanent and will need to be “touched-up” at regular intervals. Each person metabolizes injectable fillers at a different rate. Some last a few months, other can last a few years. The results of a Restylane Lyft® injection can last for up to one year. Juvederm Voluma can last up to two years.

Are Results Immediate?
Dermal fillers really deliver almost instant gratification. Many patients see a difference almost immediately, although they may be initially disguised by minor swelling in some cases.

What dermal fillers are available?
Popular dermal fillers include Restylane®, Restylane Lyft®,Juvéderm®, Juvéderm Voluma®, and Belotero®. These fillers are made of a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid. Radiesse® is a calcium based dermal filler, which stimulates your own production of collagen while replenishing facial volume. Sculptra® is a poly-L-lactic acid. Sculptra® stimulates collagen production over a period of time. Unlike other dermal fillers, Sculptra® results are not immediate but will become apparent over a few months.

How do I know which dermal filler is right for me?
There are so many injectables on the market and it can be very confusing to know which one is right for you. The right filler for you will depend on the improvements you want to gain and the areas being treated. Sometimes I will use a combination of products depending upon what your exact needs are. Your options and my recommendations will be thoroughly discussed with you at your consultation.

Dermal fillers are usually priced by the syringe, and the cost varies by product. The number of syringes needed depends on the desired improvement. Typically the price ranges from $500-$900 per syringe.
