Who is a good candidate for Male Breast Reduction Surgery?
The best candidates for male breast reduction have excess fatty tissue in their breasts that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise. Men should be in good overall physical and mental health and have realistic expectations for the results of surgery. Men with firm skin with good elasticity enjoy the best outcome because their skin conforms well to the chest muscles after reduction. I do ask that you stop smoking, as this can interfere with the healing and results and I will nicotine test you before and after your surgery.

What are surgical drains and will I have them?
If breast tissue has been removed, a drain may be placed on each side of the chest at the time of gynecomastia surgery. Drains remove the fluid that accumulates after surgery and promotes healing. The drains will typically stay in three to four days after surgery. Most Gynecomastia surgeries that I perform will include drains during the immediate post-operative period. You will be instructed on drain care at your pre-operative appointment as well as the day of your surgery.
